I am an affiliate of Mikasa Beauty. They sell beauty products, make-up brushes, make-up, nail polishes, hair products, and all things beauty related. The thing that is most special is that I have a code that will save all my readers 25% off their entire purchase. Yes, that's right, 25% off your total purchase. Use code TYPURPLE25 to save 25%. Go to Mikasa.com to see if they don't have something you can use in your beauty routine. I have a video on my YouTube channel reviewing two brushes that I have. I will be purchasing more. They have a wide array of products to try. Use my code and save. Who doesn't like to get 25% off. TYPURPLE25, that's the code, TYPURPLE25.

Begin a New Year: Take Care of the Mail

This is a big deal for me. I tend to allow the mail to pile up. I don't know the reason for this, but I don't like to look at my mail. I will just let it sit on the table and do nothing with it. It can be anything, not all of it's bills. I will let it all sit on the table. When I do move the mail, I will separate the bills and the rest I will put on my dresser. There it will sit for ever. I really mean that. I had mail on my dresser from 2015. I decided this holiday that I would stop keeping the mail forever.

I went through all of the mail that I had collected to decide if there was anything that I needed to keep. That is when I found that I had mail from 2015 on my dresser. I found that I didn't need to keep anything. I now have to shred all of that mail. There are two boxes of mail that I have to shred. This could have been avoided if I had processed the mail as it arrived in my house.

That is my tip for this week. When the mail comes to your house, process it then. Don't wait, don't delay, don't pass go, just open the mail. What does "process" mean? It can mean different things for different people. You have to decide what "process" means to you. "Process" to me means opening the mail and deciding where it goes. If it's a bill it goes in one file, letters go in another, ads go in the trash. That is how I process the mail. The mail will not pile up because it is done each day.

Come up with your system to process your mail. It will take trial and error. That's ok, you are working on what will work for you not for someone else. You just have to make things work for you. But, do something. Starting is good. Today is a good day to start. Thanks for reading my blog. I hope this helps. Purple "irys" whenever this blog finds you.

Made it Myself (MIM) Traveler's Notebook

I have made a Traveler's Notebook cover out of fabric. I have used a fat quarter that I purchased from Walmart and a button for decoration. I plan to sell these if anyone is interested in purchasing them. I am selling them for $5.00 at this time. Shipping will have to be extra. They will be made to order at the moment. The sizes will also vary. I will include three blank inserts. Please go to my website, purpleirys.com if you are interested in purchasing fabric Traveler's Notebooks. This is just a sample of what I have made. I can make yours to order. Thanks for reading my post. Purple irys whenever this post finds yous.

Begin a New Year: Clearing the Clutter

This is the first day of 2018. How do you want to begin this year? What goals do you have in mind for this year? What do you want to get done in this new year? What do you want to accomplish this year? Where do you start?

The first place to start is to clear your mind. This is something that has taken me more than one year to do. I can't go into details here, but it's a process. It's not something that can be done over night. It takes work, patience, and time. It took me a lot of prayer and support from my family. I still have issues, but I'm still a work in progress. Now that my mind is clear, I can focus on what is around me.

The next step was to clear my environment. I can't work in a messy area. I had to clean up and throw things out. It's hard to do. It's hard to just throw things away. It's harder to give things away when I had paid for them with hard earned money. I was always the person who kept things just in case I needed it later. I have a prime example of that. I had a mini planner with six rings. I purchased it from Roses two years ago for $5. At the time I was undecided about what type of planner I wanted so I gave it to my daughter. I realized now I can use it as a demo planner on my channel. I asked if she still had it. She said she remembered it but doesn't know where it is. It's lost. I looked online for it. It's now $15. If I had kept it, I would still have it. But I was cleaning and got rid of it. I'm not sorry I did; I wasn't using it. I should have let it go. Take the chance and let those unused things go.

If it's something that had personal value, have it preserved. Research how to preserve it or take it to a professional to have it done. If it has personal and monetary value, it should be done by a professional. If you have not used it at all last year and it has no value, then let it go.

If you can't throw it away, then give it to someone who can use it. Donate the item to the Goodwill or Salvation Army. There are places that will take computers and cell phones and will fix them for our Vets. There are ways to get rid of your thins without throwing them out. You can have more space for things you will really use when you let go of the things you don't use or need.

Clearing the Clutter is the first of weekly posts of how to get organized. Thanks for reading my post. Purple Irys whenever this posts finds.
