This is the first day of 2018. How do you want to begin this year? What goals do you have in mind for this year? What do you want to get done in this new year? What do you want to accomplish this year? Where do you start?
The first place to start is to clear your mind. This is something that has taken me more than one year to do. I can't go into details here, but it's a process. It's not something that can be done over night. It takes work, patience, and time. It took me a lot of prayer and support from my family. I still have issues, but I'm still a work in progress. Now that my mind is clear, I can focus on what is around me.
The next step was to clear my environment. I can't work in a messy area. I had to clean up and throw things out. It's hard to do. It's hard to just throw things away. It's harder to give things away when I had paid for them with hard earned money. I was always the person who kept things just in case I needed it later. I have a prime example of that. I had a mini planner with six rings. I purchased it from Roses two years ago for $5. At the time I was undecided about what type of planner I wanted so I gave it to my daughter. I realized now I can use it as a demo planner on my channel. I asked if she still had it. She said she remembered it but doesn't know where it is. It's lost. I looked online for it. It's now $15. If I had kept it, I would still have it. But I was cleaning and got rid of it. I'm not sorry I did; I wasn't using it. I should have let it go. Take the chance and let those unused things go.
If it's something that had personal value, have it preserved. Research how to preserve it or take it to a professional to have it done. If it has personal and monetary value, it should be done by a professional. If you have not used it at all last year and it has no value, then let it go.
If you can't throw it away, then give it to someone who can use it. Donate the item to the Goodwill or Salvation Army. There are places that will take computers and cell phones and will fix them for our Vets. There are ways to get rid of your thins without throwing them out. You can have more space for things you will really use when you let go of the things you don't use or need.
Clearing the Clutter is the first of weekly posts of how to get organized. Thanks for reading my post. Purple Irys whenever this posts finds.
